I just got my sons lt 80 runing again & it seems to run great. my concern is can a clutch mod make it pull harder out of the corners? It seems to take a few seconds to wind back up & I would like to see it pull hard as soon as you hit the gas. the qaud has a fresh wiseco piston, uni filter,& Hetrick pipe.the intake looks stock & Im not sure whats been done to the carb.the kid don't race but we trail ride kinda fast.I don't want to open the air box up to much & have him suck in a bunch of crud.Any help with carb & clutch settings would be great. Thanks.

Take the rear clutch shoes down to 180 grams each.
Remove 1 or 2 rollers from the front clutch.
Hopefully nothing has been done to the carb (they work fine).
I agree don't touch the airbox (another thing that works fine).

Thanks for the info. Is that a pretty easy job? to lighten up the clutch shoes do I buy new ones or do they have removeable weights?

Not too hard.
You cut then drill to the exact weight. You'll need gram scales.
I'd cut them about 1/2" from the pad and go from there.
FYI: the big nut is left handed thread.;)
