2008 Drx 90 breaking up on top end. Just eliminated the wiring harness and oil injection. The quad only breaks up when it gets hot. The plug looks good. Any ideas??

check plug boot and make sure wire is getting a good connection at boot and at coil. If everything is good there the coil could be going bad. If you havent changed anything in the carb its probably electrical and its hard to track down unless you have replacement COIL CDI AND STATOR to try .

Did you rejet after eliminating oil injection? Do a plug check at WOT.

MY BUDDY HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS 2009 90CC AND HE HAS THE CGR ENGINE. HE HAS CHANGED THE CARB STATOR AND CDI. HE ALSO CHECKED ALL THE GROUNDS AND WE STILL CANT FIGURE OUT WHATS GOING ON.

Its a long shot but we had a 90 a few weeks ago doing that and we bypassed the kill switch and problem went away. connected enough to run but not at high RPM. its 2 wires worth a shot

check the 2 wires that plug together i think one is orange and the other is black that go from the coil to the cdi i hard wired mine and it cleard up i seen it happen to another bike also and i made a ground wire from the frame to the motor and if you still have the stock kill switch get rid of it get a after market kind good luck tommy

Well i pulled the gas cap off and blew through the vent hose. Seems to have solved the problem. Lucky I guess.

Try to pressure check the engine....the oil injection barbs can leak on the intake manifold.

Even from the factory i have seen them leak on the threaded screw and the OI barb.

Also make sure you have a ground from the engine to the frame if you have removed the harness
