i was just checking out their website and i was pretty shocked to see their was only an outlaw 525 irs. i am honestly suprised to see them pull out of the market, because i thought they heavily sponsored a few different teams? i could be wrong but still.

at least their new rzr's and sportsmans are sweet.

No redesign. If the economy hadn't tanked, they were working on a new Outlaw from what I heard.

IMO Honda made a huge mistake letting everyone know there is a new 450r lurking around the corner. Many riders like myself are holding off. It isn't so much the cost of the quad as it is everything else that gets replaced. Who wants to go through buying new steering stem, a-arms, front shocks, swingarm, and rear shock again?

KTM shut down the r&d section on their quads in 2009. and they have made or done anything with them since last year and they wont have anymore coming out anytime soon.

thats werid that they closed there r&d at ktm and they 2010 ktm that they did release had a couple upgrades...

the upgrades were more "fixes" then researching it and making big changes from the factory. they were probably things that farr's team or one of the factory european teams found that were small things and what not.

ATVs are hobbies ... and when a recession hits , people drop their hobbies so that they don't lose their homes and primary vehicles. I think the manufacturers saw a huge decline in profits over the last 24+ months ( and it's not rebounding anytime soon), and sport ATVs are usually the first to be axed with their low sales compared to other models (4x4s). I think you'll see other manufacturers take the same route , cutting machines out of their line up to free up dollars that are tied up with low sales.

Yea a lot of dealers around me are selling brand new sport ATVs for really cheap. It proves that they arent selling many. The utility atvs are selling good though cause you can do so much more with them. Plow snow in the winter, use it for chores around the house or farm and you can still hit the trails on the weekend. A lot of the utility atvs out there right now are just as fun on the trails as sport quads. A lot of people are going the utility atv route in these tough economic times.

^ Haha one time I bicycled one of our John Deere tractors for like 1 second when I took a turn a bit too fast. It was SCARY.

I think it was our smaller tractor, the 3720.

haha Im sure that sport would make television before quads ever whille haha. mite aswell race lawn mowers or play ping pong or something else since every other sport is on tv but quad racing.

Its very sad about the quad industry. Wish I woulda grown up Racin a Bike now.
