New Quad

I talked my dad into trading his 06 CBR 1000 for a 08 YFZ 450. I feel bad taking away his bike but he never rides it anymore and My parents wouldn't ever let me ride it. My whole family is glad it's gone except maybe my dad. I think he liked saying he had one mostly.
Anyway I like the 450 but the guy took the baffel out and cant find it so it doesn't sound that great and it seems like it really heats up fast. The header glows orangish. Some people say that is normal as long as its not really lean. I just don't understand how my air cooled 400ex (which I am keeping to) never has gotten as hot as this liquid cooled 450 does in 15 minutes.

all 450's heat up really quick, it's nothing to worry about. The exhaust will put a blister on your leg if you ride with shorts, and it gets worse when you put a different header on. It's fine for the factory header to glow, they're thin stainless steel

Tell me about it man I was ready to ride RED until the end haha but the frame on this is red does that count for anything haha

I took it to the track tonight and man is it different from the 4hundy. I rolled it over, I've never had any close calls at the track before and the 5th lap on this almost new bike that happens. The left rear bracket for the fender got bent. :( I'm so pissed at myself. I didn't like how it sounded but man the power is insane. I don't know if i should get a baffle for the stock exhaust or by aftermarket. I don't want it to loud but I'd like to get Dasa, Rossier, or Sparks if I get full system, which all are pretty loud lol.

All you need for a YFZ is a slip-on and re-jet the carburetor, they're crazy fast compared to my 416

Yea what a deal the next day some guy wanted to buy the cbr straight out for 7g kinda made me sick. I did feel bad but not really my mom keeps telling me all that matters is that thing is gone and Dad said he doesn't care.
If I become a doctor I will buy his a 2020 CBR1000RR to make up for it. haha

I can't ride two quads at once but since they are so different I'll always ride both. You can't ride the 450 easy or it heats up bad and its geared so high. I can't reem on the 400 or I feel bad. So I ride what the situation calls for.

yeah back when I had my yfz it ran really hot so thats normal for it to heat up quick and the header to glow red. Have fun with it man those things fly!
