View Full Version : Need help lining up the marks for TDC...

I'm checking my valves... and I dont know how to turn my crank or my cam chain sprocket in order to line up the TDC marks.
I got a 2008 450er.

Any helpwould be appreciated...

My Exhaust Valves are both .0105, so they are considered good.

My Intake Valve closest my cam chain-sprocket is .0025 the other is under .0015 ... they are suppose to be .006 so what size will need for each?

A=(B-C)+D
A is new shim thickness
B is recorded valve clearance
C is specified valve clearance
D is old shim thickness

recomended clearance
intake is .16mm(+or-).03 or .006in(+or-).01
exhaustis.28mm(+or-).03 or .011in(+or-).01
on page 4-12 of service manual

On the 08' model how does the cam chain tensioner work? Same as 06-07 ?
