new 450r and efi???

need some help, just got 09 450r. i do race but nothing crazy. i want to get full exhaust and new air filter. do i have to get it re-programed? what else is involved, is it a one time deal? exhaust are $500 and these boxes are $300. thats alot of $$$$. any other advise would be cool.

You could get a slip on exhaust to save money or buy used. Some programmers come with custom maps like the pv5. The msd fi is the best programmer out right now but there are no maps for it. You have to make your own map or get it dynoed.

if i get slip-on and do air filter, how will the 450r perform and will i have to get it re-programed? you are right much cheaper.

you have to re-program it no matter what you do. With a slip-on it will increase your performance, just not as much as a full system. the standard YFZ's dont even need headers. the stock one is just fine. and it has a carb. ;)
