chained derailed a couple of weeks ago at a race, no damage, the rear bearings where shot we figured thats why she derailed, replaced the bearing, seals, sprockets, and chain. but last week she derailed again, have checked alignment, everything looks good, may have just been bad luck, any one had any problems with derailing, what kind of slack should I be running. I usually allow about one inch of slack. having carfully check the chain slack thought the complete suspension travel it looks like I could set the slack at about one half inch. any thougths. any one else had any unusual problems? thanks Bill

sprockets and chain guides are in good shape?

remember on a yfz the chain gets looser as the suspension compresses. personally i run my chain tight, maybe to tight but i've never had an issue. just inspect them and change as needed..

if you remove your chain, you can use a string to make sure your sprockets are inline with each other...
