My son recently bought a 2008 DRX50. Runs great and he loves it. Only issue is the electirc start. Worked when we test drove it. When we got it home the dead battery needed replacing. I put in a new battery with a full charge and it won't kick over. Nothing at all. Kick starts on first kick. Thoughts? Just want ideas on what to start checking.

Thanks.

Be sure and check the safety switch in the rear brake lever housing. It won't let the starter activate unless you pull the brake. Sometimes that switch goes bad. Wiggle the wires and try again.

I had one that i bought and it started both ways in less then a month the electric start wouldnt work. After a couple weeks the kick start wouldnt work it ended up having low compression. So u might want to get a compression test. Cost a couple dollars at your local shop. This is a starting point.

Probably the switch like Tom said. If not, it may be the black relay under the seat. I had one go back and it wouldn't turn over but would start with the kicker. I have had both issues with our stock lim quads.

If it's not turning over at all with the elec starter than it's not a compression issue. Only a compression issue if it turns over with electric but doesn't start.

The relay under the seat can also go bad

I have plenty of pull off parts if you need something lmk

Ok. So I'm a dork. First machine we've had that has a CVT. It was just the brake safety switch. Thank you all for the help.

Going to start building a track for my son to practice on this weekend.
