04 YFZ450 shifting issue please help

Here is a post from my son on another forum... We really need some advice before we tear this motor apart and replace shift forks... Any thought??

" I went to the dunes for the weekend and starting having problems. i would go through all the gears, and would go to downshift and it wouldnt go down past 3rd.the shifter would go all the way down but wouldnt go into 2nd. if i went to 4th, let out the clutch it would downshift fine again. it didnt happen everytime. i was told the 3rd shift fork is bent, any ideas? "

He says it only happened when it was warm....

Please help out if you can.. Or just give some input.

Would probably be hard to tell just by guestimating. Definitely something in the tranny. Regardless what it is it has to be pulled :( .

Thanks for the input... Taking it to the sponsor tomorrow for inpsection repairs... Thankfully we have a short break before the next race.
