I stuck a cr80 in one years ago...
If it helps, you've taken 1/2 the time posting that it takes to switch it.:)
Sorry, no pics.

I would use a better Chassis than a Blaster, if you cant afford one of the custom 90 Mod chassis like most of us cant. I would do a 250r Chassis with a cr85

No perfect answer there...:(
I guess what ever fits.
I stayed out of the 90 mod class because of $$.
Back then the most used was prolly the LT230's. Then a blaster. I did see a few 250R/80's. That's why I said too heavy.
As far as being competitive, they are not. Against the Fischer/JB/others aftermarket 90 mods that is.
After all that work and then the kid gets smoked,,,you see what I mean.
I personally thought the blaster frame was good because it wasn't heavy, plenty of parts available etc.

We run a YZ85 in a Cobra chassis. It's much lighter than the Blasters and 250 conversions.

Snyder Motorsports actually built me a Blaster Frame Mod with a CR 85 Motor in it. and let me tell you what that thing ripped. We put Snyders +5 +1 A-Arms on it and a Snyder +3 Swingarm. This was about 8 years ago when mods first started to come about. it was certainly the biggest and best handling mod. The only down fall is that it had works shocks on the front a CR 80 shock on the back. But now SnyderMotorsports is set up directly with ELKA Suspension. Shawn is a Blaster FREAK! and also has experience with the mods. He built mine from complete scratch. EVERYTHING was fabricated and modified. Call Snyder Motorsports ASAP! 330-345-5443 you wont be dissapointed you will be another happy Snyder Motorsports customer :)

1993/94 is more than 8 years ago.:D
CR80 Bud Fischer chassis. That's the first one I know of. By 1996 when we started national racing, there were many 90 mods. :)

Jack I was wondering if you remember the 350x engine in a 250r frame?

If you are interested in trying a Cobra mod, I have have a frame and shocks that I need to sell.

Right now, I have three Cobra mods an RM85 and two YZ85's, I probably need to sell one of these bikes too. Three bikes for one rider is a bit much.
