Header is hot and it wont idle

my 300ex header is getting hot , real hot like crank it up for 30secs and will burn your hand off , it sat for about a year and i did alot to it but its not runnin right , it wont idle and the header is gettin hot , when i cut it off there is smoke slowly comin out of my muffler , it is also burnin a little oil


please help me

what all did you do to it during that one year period. We need some more info to diagnose the problem.

sounds like your valves might be too tight, valve clearance that is

may be running lean. Either that or if u just rebuilt it, the rings might not have seated

My first thought is it's lean, what does the plug look like?

if its been sitting for a year u probably need to clean the carb out

i changed the oil and oil filter , new sparkplug and put fresh gas in it
thats all did

Sounds lean. I too think the carb may need a little cleaning!
