i have a lrd lt250r engine with a spacer plate...it is supposed to use a 86 trx250r piston...the only marking the piston has though is a 474 underneath by where the wrist pin goes through....its also a 69mm piston...does this sound like a honda piston?

hi Brian,
Nothing on the top of the piston??

Sometimes it takes WD-40 and some scrubbing to get through the carbon..

Is there a window on the other side in the skirt?

Not a trx piston. The 87-89 pistons have a intake window in then and the 85-86 piston has a arch cut into the intake side of the piston. This piston has neither.

perhaps its a yz piston, i know LRD used those pistons in some spacer plate motors too...

looks like your gonna have to the get the numbers off the top of the piston...

mystery solved...i scrubbed through the grunge...it is a 80 over 87 lt250r piston. got me wondering now, if the wrong piston was in there. arlan said it used a 86 trx piston and yz250 wrist bearing with the 3mm spacer plate? i sent him the info i found and i'll see what he says.
