head bolt nut question

Long story short, my head bolt nuts are stripping so i went out and bought some that fit. They are just regular nuts instead of the weird rounded stock ones.....
Is there a reason why the stock ones are like that or will i be fine using these? A nut is a nut right? lol

You could have got them at the dealer for a couple of bucks.

LOL i just replied to another thread that there is suppose to be a washer under that nut. it should be fine for that nut but the stock acorn style would bottom out before it was tight.
