It's always hard to check out some of the more detailed stuff with the quality of craigslist photos. Shoot him an email and see if he can email you the pictures. This way you can check out the motor mounts and stuff and see what the craftsmanship looks like. But other than that it doesn't look bad at all and its not too expensive either. If you could get it for $850 or so I'd say that'd be a real good deal (as long as you know how to jet it and everything)

stolen.. hence the "wholeshot" tires. no real rider or owner of a quad would spell it "wholeshot". plus we all know that motor along is atleast $700-$800 or so. the tires, hood and motor alone are worth $1000... andddd, "it spudders and spits". why not rejet it yourself and sell it for more. and has to many parts to list. ya, cause homeboy dont know what those parts really are. just seems kinda fishy to me. just my opinion. sure im wrong..

don't go look at it there was a 09 ktm sx on wisconsin craigslist for 2000 and he said he was leaving for iraq

That can be prevented by handing him cash with one hand, in person. Then with the other hand, loading up the quad. :rolleyes:

Anyway, I say go look at it. $1000 is cheap. I payed twice that for a POS stock 400.

That doesnt make sense in my case... im not sending him money.... and Im gonna go. Check it out. See if the craftmanship and effort is there. Talk to the guy make sure he knows his stuff, get his address, his full name, phone number all that. Grab the vin and make sure the quad isnt stolen.

nobody has noticed yet,but the picture from the front the left rear fender,half of it is gone!other then that it looks like aftermarket 450r plastics,not sure how they did the pipe.but im thinking stolen,but if you go check it out and its the real deal then i suggest buying it,you could probabley part it out and make some money

Its for the kick starter.. thats why the plastics are cut. And the hood is a maier one. Its not 450r plastic. Its 400ex plastics... with the maier hood and front plastics cut.

i would ask him if he would mind if you called a police officer to come inspect it. In indiana, if a cp is free they will come out to where you are and run the vin. Check both the frame vin and the engine vin.

Even if a cop isnt free, you can always load it up and take it to the local pd and they will do it there.

Good ideas to get it checked out, but I bet it's legit. I doubt someone would be dumb enough to post pics of a stolen quad on craigslist for sale. That would be asking to get busted.

And yes a lot of guys are still going to Iraq and Afghanistan and selling their stuff cheap before they go.

Well first off, it could be stolen but i doubt it... I have`got 400ex's for 500 bucks mostly stock but they had a pipe and AC nerf. The other was a 440 BB and i paid 750 for it, said it had a bad head( bolt holes for the rocks striped is what they thought) it was really just a bad gasket.

I got a polaris indy for 50 bucks from a guy. I was working a job for him and i asked what he was gonna do with it and he was just gonna scrap it, said give m e 50 bones and its yours. asked for a DNR card ( Its WI's title) and he had it in his name, got it form him and away i went, I rode that all year last year, I had 400 miles on in one day with it! I gotta say its one of the best 50 bucks I've spent..


I had a 99 400ex with the 99 yz400f motor, i paid 1500 for it 3 years ago, it was a nice quad but i had to do a lot of work to get it right. They didnt do much of the custom stuff other then the exhaust right.

I would say go look at it and check it out. you can get quads really cheap, you just have to know who to look for. those people you have to find your self.
