idk, but personally if u have the funds, just get a 400ex frame. they are way stronger and can handle the abuse much better. otherwise you might be forever welding gussets on your 300ex frame. just my opinion. do what you wish.

!plus your 300ex plastics will fit on your 400ex frame. and the rims and tires wil be the same.

Just go with the wiseco setup. A nice 330 kit and itll be fine. That'll give you a brand new top end, and you dont have to be buying an old engine thats been sitting around or paying some serious cash for a nice one. Also when you go to sell it no one wants to hear you have an engine from the mid 80's in it, they want to hear "fresh top end, wiseco 330 kit". Its just a better way to go. My friends thinking about doing the same on his 300. Good luck

There are pros an cons in a 350x swap you will be losing the electric start because the 350x is just a kick start an the reverse also But if you have a spare quad to ride while you work on it I say do it Because the 350x is a torque monster with 6 gears not 5 like most hondas you see now all you need to do is get a CDI box for the 350x and a (87-92) 250x wiring harness((less wires then a 300ex simpler to hook up)) there the same all you need to do to harness is the plug with the two wires going to the CDI box switch them around and all you need to do to fit the 350x motor is seat it in the frame and shim it because all the motor mounts holes will line up O there will be some cuting on the upper back motor mount hole on the motor that is some were around ONE inch on the kicker side THIS is a little of what you will be going through if you do it BUT its up to you I have one in 87 250x frame and this thing HAULS ***** 81mph on topend with my sprocket setup!!!

If you really have ur mind set on a 350x engine swap, you would be further off getting a newer 250 4stroke dirt bike motor. The only thing different would be installing a ratiator on the newer 250 motor. They both need new motor monts, exhaust, and electrical. Check out check out (born to ride) thred in the hybrid section 300ex / crf250 hybrid. He used a KTM250.
