I installed a supertrapp ids2 on my 02 300ex. i am runing 8 discs stock air box and filter. I put in a dynojet dj118 turned the air screw out 3 turns. I checked the plug after this and and it looked ok. I rode sunday afternoon without any problems. I checked the plug this evening just to check and make sure, and it is running lean. What do i need to adjust? pilot, main, needle?
thanks

no dynojet jets are different than the stock jets. The numbers are different. you say its running lean, what is it doing, what does it sound like?

It runs and sounds fine. The plug is white no smoke ring. also when taking the stock main jet out and installing the dynojet adapter the stock main is screwed in a brass adapter does this need to be removed then install the dynojet adapter?
thanks

i have a 300ex with the dynojet jet kit and an FMF Megamax II pipe with no air box mods other than a K+N with outerwear. I'm using the 128 and have the air/fuel screw out 2 and 3/4 turns for the winter (here in CT at 600 - 800 ft.)

The stock is a 122 and the dynojet i used is a 128 - definitely go up from a 115 or whatever you are using before you burn your valves or worse.

Main jet DJ118? I run DJ170! with WB E-series and modified airbox lid. The smallest size my kit came with was a DJ142. Dynojet does have their own sizing numbers. I ran lean with a DJ148 and said screw it and went to the DJ170, Biiig difference. I say start at the top and work your way down cause chances are you won't have to change it much. Oh yeah what's your altitude, I'm at less than 1000'. My kit was a quad works atv power kit w/ K&Nfilter and cleaners.

dynojet recommened a dj118 for 300ex with a pipe. the biggest in the kit is a dj128, thats what i am going to put in befor i ride it again. not sure about elevation. i am in southern ok close to red river.

i have tinners air scoops and i think they look nice and are functional. i just put them on a month or two ago and havent seen any temperature changes because i wear two pairs of pants and the temp is about 10 -20 degrees. it wasnt a bad investment at a mere 20 dollars (i bought the from someone who didnt want them)

Yes you need to take out the stock main jets adapter. just put in the dynojets adapter and main jet

What kind of big difference did it make? more power/response?
And did you use the new needle that came with the kit or stick with the stock one? What # clip notch? thanx

sorry apple I made a mistake. leave the stock main jet adapter in. Screw the dynojet main jet into the dynojet adapter and then the adapter into the stock adapter.

ya thats what i have too ,but it seems to run decent no matter what jetting i change /adjust. just wondering what most people are running, seems like i should be gettin a little more out of her. freind of mine is running total stock except he has the spark arrestor removed and he is about 50 pounds lighter but he still blows me and another freind away

That doesnt make sense? hey but did you know every ten pounds equals 1 horse. So if your friend has 50lbs on you hes theoretically got an advantage over you guys in that respect. You should try swapping bikes and see what happens. I did that with one of my friends. I weigh 135lbs and he weighs 180lbs. I beat him pretty bad being on my own. When we swapped quads he still beat me but it was a bit closer.

well, i finally had time to put a bigger jet in. i put in a dj128 and went for a mile ride behide the house. i came back checked the plug and it is still white! the dj128 is the biggest in the kit. Any suggestions? i think i am just going to order some bigger keihn jets and try that.
thanks

what kind of gas are you using? Alot of the gas out there has additives in it. They will turn it white too

i am using diamond shamrock unleded. the ceramic part of the plug is white, the top metal that is usually balck is white. Do you think it is still lean? i dont want to ride it until i get this done right.

I think your alright though apple. Because they wouldnt make a jet kit and and give you to small of jets especially since all you got is the pipe. I've Read other forums about the same problem your having. Its just the additives in the gas these days. I would just go and stick with what the dynojet kit told you to put in and go with that. I have the dynojet kit too for my 400ex. I put it in exactly how they said and its running great! Hope this helps
