Has anyone tried the sparks cdi box or the procom box? Which one is better? I am leaning towards the sparks.

I don't really know much about there cdi boxes but Sparks has built a good name for itself so I would say you should be happy with anything Sparks sells.

Why don't you just get the +3 key?

idk. I heard the keys wernt worth it either. I dont like the fact that they create alot more heat. So cdi boxes arnt worth it?

CDI boxes are a waste. Look at my sig, it's the one thing I don't have and for good reason.

Dollar for dollar, a timing key will give better, more reliable gains for less cost than an aftermarket CDI will.

i agree with everyone else, its not really worth it
I had a Nice Dyna-tech on my 400 took it of and put a stock one on i had laying around and i couldn't feel much if any of a difference if ur always riding around at high rpms then yes u may feel a difference but unless ur always pushing 8000rpms its doesn't do a thing

the sparks one is $100 and the procom i thought were good but i read a lot of z400 people are having failures. i dont run a box, the ex is a torque monster. i see no reason to ring its neck and wait to see what happens.

They are about the same. We had great luck with the procom. We ran them on all the mx bikes and You had to to keep up with the dales and z400s. The extra 1000 rpm was nice to have at the end of a straightaway. The keys would brake if it backfired with the high compression top ends.
