What they don't tell you is that you shouldn't the normal amount of laundry soap when you clean the padding. Gave me a ****ing nasty rash and the smell was too strong.

Yeah I've always wondered if it would all absorb into the padding and not fully wash out.

I'd think hand washing would be best as it isn't too much to clean and you can be much gentler.

I soak our pads in laundry detergent in the kitchen sink then rinse them really well over and over for about 5 solid minutes, squeezing all the water out over and over till no more soap suds. Then, i lay then on towels on the counter to dry. They smell good an never have any issues with them irritating skin :p

I say don’t wash your helmet, let it get funky and you will ride faster just trying to out run the smell. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/aktion/action-smiley-083.gif

I pressure wash my helmet, and throw the liner in the laundry. My helmet will be retired before I wear it out doing it that way.:p
