How many turns out should pilot screw be from fully seated?

and mine is missing oring and washer? does this affect anything?

stock is 2.25 turns out. I would suspect that it will leak without the o ring in it. it could also cause an air leak too since it probably wont seal. the rebuild kit has all of the stuff in it, but you may be able to find an o ring at ace or something. i would say if you have the 38 in you should be around 3-3.5 turns out on it. steve
