I need to convert to a 70 and need help finding the most cost effective route to go. My boy is just turning 9 and weighs about 85 lbs in full gear so will need suspension as well. We are on a budget however i have been around long enough to know that the power will come much cheaper than the handling. This will be for XC racing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Give Snyder Motorsports a call. They convert 50's to 70's all the time. Shawn is a mini quad specialist. They are also set up with Elka Suspension and have their own A-Arms for the minis. He will also be able to help you with the cost. He can talk to you about the different routes you would like to go with cost and what kind of power your lookin for also along with the suspension. Give him a call at 330-345-5443. Shawn - Steve or Dylan will pick up and be than glad to help you out and direct you in the path you want to go.

Last summer I went with an Athena 70 cc cylinder kit from G-force and a used 2008 stock DRR 90 pipe. total cost was about $300. the quad is pretty quick and the boy was very happy for the money spent.

been there and done that with the Kymco 50 2-stroke.....
HOWEVER...... be careful. After tons of research I found that Kymco put different motors in different years of those old
2-strokes before they went to 4. One motor had no cylinder
kits that would work on it because it was such a goofy design that is atypical of everything else. We ended up geting rid of it
and getting a scrambler 50 2-stroke that we could mod.
I would get anyone you talk to pictures of it first so they can
see what you've got. Paul Reimer knows what I am talking about
as he saw our cylinder and knows the deal.
If you want to contact him check his site below.

Or whoever you like, but I know Paul dealt with this
for us and knows his stuff. Better safe than sorry - make sure
about the motor you have first.

LOL! Yeah, we had some things come up and couldnt do much racing. Went to a race again this year and he was running faster laps stock than the winner in the 50 mod class and so he decides he REALLY wants to race full time. Bad thing is we had the $$ to do so more the than now. He will be too old after Oct for 50's so we hafta do something. Kinda wanting to stay under 1000.00 for next year then maybe see what happens and go from there. I'm thinking power first even tho he outrides the suspension now-but the power will be cheaper and he should be able to handle the stk suspension for a year.
