I have an LSR/CRF hybrid that I just bought about a month and a half ago. It was blown up and I finally got it all back together to ride...

It devoured a brand new UPP chain slide! In 3 rides at the dunes it's gone almost all the way through the slide! What can I do? I can't keep buying a new slide each time I go somewhere!

It's got 13/39 for sprockets, it just seems the angle of the swingarm to the sprocket (it's an 02 CRF) is just too much. The sprocket sits so much lower...There is already a wear spot on the swingarm from the previous owner(s). I don't want to make that worse.

Any help would be much appreciated! I didn't find a lot while searching, but I didn't get really creative with the search terms yet.

THANKS!

I used a tm design on my lsr hybrid. Upp isn't nearly as tough. Not that this is a cure all because it won't last forever. But I do have two seasons of track and dunes and its about due for another. It cuts it but they last pretty well. Hope this helps

I second with the TM design slider. Have had many of them, and they work really well. Glad to see you on a Hybrid finally rainbow, must like it much better than the R heh? :)

250R FOREVER!! haha.

The Hybrid is definitely fun and will be solid once I work out some of the bugs in the next few months. It was pretty roached when I bought it, but it's shaping up nicely - couldn't pass up the deal!

I will buy the TM chain slider next, the UPP was handy. I thought there would be a better solution. The angle is just jacked since the chain has to go up so far to get around the swing arm.

Thanks for the replies everyone :D

you could also make a custon slider out of an exotic plastic that wears better than the PVC or ABS plastic that some are made of. try UHMW, polyurethene(90 durometer) or nylotron. there are also some very expensive, more exotic plastics but you are not usually able to buy small amounts of it.

how about a picture of that new hybrid you are fighting with? Is it a converted 250r?

jcs I work in a machine shop and my boss happens to be a racer - we were talking about using UMHW because we make skidplates out of them, and have a lot of material. Also, delron (i think) which we make aerospace bushings out of, but that could get spendy. Probably going to try the TM chain slide first and go from there. I was hoping there'd be some neat fix for it!!

QPS it looks like a red and blue 400ex. Lonestar made a 400ex geometry frame specifically for the CRF motors. I think they made some 250R geometry ones too, but I'm not certain. I don't have any good photos. It needs some love, but I basically put a new motor in it so I'm recouping those costs before I attempt PC or new plastic!! Red Fullbore plastic, dark blue frame, black bars/nerfs/pegs/bumpers/seat, stupid blue star graphics kit. +3 Roll design a-arms w/ Axis remote rez all around. I'll get a photo up eventually :)

p.s. are you coming to Olympia for the WORCS race and WORCSX?
