I'm looking for advice and tips from those of you that have done this swap. Pics would be great for motor mounts, radiator mounting, etc. Any help would be appreciated. :D

if you want a 250r... do it the right way...
just buy a 250r, no conversion will compare :blah

hahah yeah you'd be better of buying a 250r in good condition that taken you chances on a converstion

So are you guys saying you have done this and your comments are based on that experience or you couldn't help yourselfs and just had to reply to a post?

The 400EX frame is slightly taller than the 250R frame to accomodate the EX's taller motor. Putting the smaller 250R powerplant in a 400EX is really wasting space. You'd be better off going with a 250R engine in a 250R frame to get a slightly lower COG.

help, anyone?
today i was looking through old dirt wheels.and got some info on a yz426 conversion.. in the september 01 DW adam sick converted a ex chassis to accept a 250r engine or a 426..he said he liked the way the new chassis felt compared to the older R chAssis
