i pulled out my oil filter today and unfolded it and i found some small copper shavings in it, there where some in the oil too that you could see in the right light, i know its the crank or the connecting rod bearing, but could it blow anytime or what? i would like to finish this seasons races then tear it down, or am i over reacting?

needs to come apart asap unless you feel like tearing up more then already has happened or have it lock up while riding and causing a crash, the shavings would be from the thrust washers on either side of the rod

Like he said... That's you trust washer on the lower rod bearing... Once that goes it causes play in the rod that will cause the crank bearings to go... If you keep riding it you are chancing the rod coming through the case or like already said... Injury on the track when it locks up...

Do yourself a favor and tackle it now while you're ahead of the game.
