2007 400ex stock exhaust with modified end cap, knn filter, air box opened up, 416 11 to 1 comp. and a stage one cam, pilot is a 45, main is 160, was a 150 with the engine stock, quad is running strong but the plug is still too clean, wondering what others are running for jetting with these mods. any input is appreciated thanks Bill

Heres a thread that describes how to jet by plug reading.

Other then that you should be around 170 main jet.

Its nearly impossible for us to tell you exactly, we can just give a baseline.

Most people fail to read the most important part of the plug, youd have to cut the threads off to see it.

Honda400ex2003, AKA steve, did some dyno runs, and I believe for a stock carb with almost the same mods you have, he wound up with a 170.

mine is in my sig. i suggest around a 170 main to start off with. i ran a stage 1 with 10:1 and dallas honda#4 ran a stage 2 11:1 with the same jetting at around 1200-1500 ft. I think i am right around 1600 actually when rounded lol. steve

Just for reference:
I just got mine all done FINALLY (steve will laugh at this) and I wound up with 160 and 3 turns out.

I have an 00, 416, stg 2 hotcam, slip on, 11:1 wiseco pistonground header welds and open airbox running 93 octane.

I thought it was to low, but I am also only 150ft above sea level. My buddy who tuned it says I should be fine up to about 1000ft with ease, after that of course less power but I shouldnt notice it to much.

So 160 could be fine for ya, never know.

I am up to a 170 main (biggest I have) she is not acting far on top but I think I am close since she does not seem quite as snappy in the mid range, seems like a nice power gain. later bill

?? what da?? what is acting far? you may need to lower your needle to help with the mid range. imo i would go to the second needle and see how it runs with that. steve
