I need rear hubs for my 450r. I'm wondering if the stock rear hubs are Steel or Aluminum? The stock ones hold up pretty damn good for the riding i do. So i'm deciding on Stock (rear) Hubs or Aftermarket Billet Aluminum (rear) Hubs.

I'll be running a Dominator II axle with these hubs.

Any input?

stick with the stock, i never really payed any attention to what they are but i have run billet rear hubs before because i had to for my axle and they just kept stripping the splines

Had aluminum LSR hubs on LSR axle for the last 4 years, not a single problem. The only advantages, less unsprung weight and cool looking.

im guessing it depends on whose hubs you go with... only company ive seen or heard people have problems with is jrd racings billet hubs... ive personally seen them break in half 3 times.. and 2 of the times it was the first time out riding on the new hubs

i weighted them.. and two aluminum hubs are half as heavy as 1 steel hub

I have ran the LSR hubs on my race 450R for over 4 years, never had one problem with them. I also have a set of Durablue hubs on my 250R, have had those for around 3 years or so. No problems with them either.
