so many variables here, its impossible to say whats faster. Besides who really cares, most riding isn't in a straight line and isn't wide open. More comes down to the rider and how the bike is setup.

Honestly, in mostly stock form, I think the Raptor might have the edge in horsepower.

But the 250r definitely has better handling (which is more important, in my opinion), and because of that, will generally outrace the Raptor in almost any type of terrain.

I'm interested, I've never raced anyone except a blaster so threads like this is the only way I become informed. Nobody's forcing you to click on the thread and read

My first bike was a slightly moded 660R and I will tell you that it was quit fast and had torque for days. However it was also like 1200 lbs, well not really but sometimes thats how it rode. I now own 2 250R's, and would say that they are quicker. top speed would really just depend on your gearing and how modified your 250R is. It really just comes down to rider type, what you are doing with it, and how you like it to feel. Any quad can be made to be fast, just like everything it just takes money. My advice, ride em both and pick the one you like. Too many variables.:)

i rode with people who have them and they get dusted in the woods by 250r, 400ex and 450s. they are hard to beat in a drag though.

I would deff think in a drag race a raptor would beat a stock cylinder 250R.

Before I bought my big bore kit, my ported stock cylinder R wouldnt beat a raptor.

I built my friends 400ex and it had a cam, pipe and carb work. My stock cyl ported R had a hard time beating him. Although he did weigh about 50lbs lighter than me.
