My good friend just got his appendix out last night. Everything went 100% and he should be home soon. Thing is me and him have been planning a trip to aruba for a year or so now and we are scheduled to leave on the 16th next friday. How long was it till you could resume to normal day to day activitys. Swimming running lifting etc...

My little sister got it out a few years ago when it was already ruptured. it was no more then a week before she was back to normal. as long as the stitches are out, before you guys leave, he'll be fine.

he should talk with his Dr about that before you guys leave. flying could cause some major issues cause of the pressurized cabin. please have hime speak to his Dr before attempting to go on a plane. just my 2 cents..

I imagine he'd have to take it easy on the lifting, because they have to cut the muscles in the abdomen to get in, lifting could cause a hernia.

Looks like you're carrying ALL the luggage.

I had mine out and it sucked. I was out of the hospital in 1 day but since mine ruptured they left me with a huge open gash in my belly in which I had to pack it with gauze everyday as it slowly healed. My lower stomach was sore for a few weeks, and was ordered not to lift no more than 10 lbs for 5 weeks, no exercise either. After 5 weeks I was back to running. It all depends whether he had the robot surgery or if they left him with a big gash.

My buddy had his out last year. Hospital stay overnight and told no heavy lifting for 6 weeks to make sure everything healed properly.

after a week u can go out. float around in the water. swim . dance. drink. sex. joggings fine. i wouldnt do like wieght training keep it under 20 lbs . especialy if its a strain on ur core muscles. id still ask ur dr. but i dnt think the pressurized cabin would mess with it

Yep, the doc will be the best advice for sure

I got sick in 1988, they rushed me into surgery and took mine. I unfortunatley woke up during the operation and fought them. A small 4 inch insision turned into a 12 inch tear. They were unable to get the muscles fixed due to me wrestling around on the table.

In the end it wasnt even my appendix:ermm:
