What is a good remedy for fixing a stiff chain? There are a few links that a bit tight no matter how many times you move them back and forth. The chain is not that old so I don't really feel like buying a new one.

is it lubed well?
If not i would say soak it in some used motor oil at least thats what i do, but then again i just use the cheaper chain lube or some bearing grease on my chain to lube it not stuff thats like 12 bucks a can

I have it sitting in a tub of oil right now so its too late for others to bash that idea. Hahaha I'm sure it wont hurt. After I take it out I will spray it down with some chain lube.

yep a good old soaking in motor oil over night is a good way to loosen it up.

Just changed the oil in the girlfriends car and had a few quarts of used oil sitting on the shelf that got put to good use. What is next? Let it sit over night, drip dry....then what?

just wipe vigorously with a clean OLD towel (dont want to po the girlfriend, lol) then pack some serious amounts of bearing grease on it and slap her all back together. the grease doesnt really fly off that bad. mine is covered with oil and grease 24/7/365 so it dont bother me, prevents rust. lol

Not really unless your spray the crap out of it.

Haha ok sounds good. I really don't want to piss her off thats for sure. I like to keep my quad super clean. I mean I get it muddy and dirty in the woods but when its time for the garage its pressure washed.

This may sound a bit unconventional, but trust me, it works.

Providing it is NOT a O-ring type chain,...

Mix up a 50/50 jug of Acetone, and ATF. (acetone will melt o-rings).

Soak it overnight in the mix.
Remove from soak, work any stiff links back and forth, and wipe dry with a clean rag, and then blow dry with compressed air.

This will break free, even the worst of sticky links.

Then, lube with a good chain lube, and you should be good to go for many more rides/miles.

Thanks Ron! Didn't really think of trans fluid. That **** cleans everything. If the oil doesn't work I will definitely try your combo of chemicals.
