We have been talking about riding more at night. I was wondering what my options are for tailights. I have a stock 88 headlight, but my no tail. There are some on Ebay, but what about other options like the 450 light?

Thanks guys.

No matter what you run, it won't be a working tail light like all the 4-strokes unless you do a lot of wiring and figure out how to attach a switch to it.

Anything will work, 300ex, 400ex, 450R, 250R as long as you can get the brackets or make some.

I went to Walmart and bought a LED light, grounded it on the frame and connected it to the lead for the OEM rear. It works fine and will suffice for any dune riding. It's about a $5 piece if that.

I just wanted some sort of a rear light to avoid getting nailed from behind. (no homo) it does not need to be a functional brake light.

I use a trailer light mounted to a small flat galvanized metal sheet that is ziptied to my frame and wired the same way as Danhung did. Not sure where you ride but in Cali, its got to be red.

If you are interested, I have this new Iron Cross shaped light that should work for your application. It was just too fancy for me after I bought it. I can snap a picture and email it if you are interested.

I believe the stock light should work fine if you don't need a brake light. I just placed an email to check availability, but multiple older (300ex, et al) models use the same light and wire, so I'm guessing quantity in the system will be good.

I hate to have to use the word "Yamaha" on this forum, but a Banshee tail light works great because the rubber mounts pivot in a way that allows it to be mounted as if it was meant to be...Cascade has a custom polished plate that holds the light and your Offroad tag if your state requires it.
