Hey Guys,

I've seen some close races in my time, but nothing like this. 3 laps with 2 riders never more than a 1/3 second apart! Jake Szigeti really brought his A-Game to moto 2 in the 50 limited class, and he and Ethan put on quite a battle. Check out these lap times below. great racing and good times. Both Ethan and Jake where very excited about their battles this weekend and enjoyed hanging out together.

If these two DRR stock limited riders where on the track with the Cobra 50 class, they would have been running 3rd/4th based on lap times!

Laps below, or check here to see it formatted better:

Very exciting race !!! It can get interesting when leaders come up on lap traffic . Ethan stayed on the gas and it paid off . I look forward to unidilla to see who will jump the farthest down gravity cavity.

Hey Don,

I just saw a post from Eli hopkins dad (50 cobra rider, #19) that looks like he thinks all 50s will be on the pee wee track at NY. have you heard anything about this?

BTW- here is what 4 hot laps with Jake did to our quad. my guess is 2 maybe 3 more jumps and the swinger would have torn apart.

I have not heard .That track is better than the peewee track at red bud. I think you will like it . Dj will most likely not run his 50 there so for me the shortened track is good for my youngest racer. Only 3 hr drive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've fixed 3 2010 rear s-arm shock mounts so far and Jakes was one of them the other week at the races. The mounts on the 09 s-arms are much stronger. The mounts on the older round tube s-arms used to do the same. All you guys have to keep a good look at the shock mounts on all 3 after every race. These little guys are getting so much faster and do all the jumps they can.

So if you changed jakes swingarm would that be legal for the stock limited class. It didn't come that way from drr.Just a ?

So here is the deal because I just went through it. If need be, I'll have some dealers chime in to confirm it.

First the background. DRR did not plan or make a design change on the 2010 swinger. the manufacture took it on themselves to change the design unknown to DRR.

This only happened on the first batch of 50s before DRR caught it and changed it back to the 09 design.

So, to the rules. stock is what came on your bike, or what is the ONLY oem replacement available. in this case, the only oem replacement for the 2010 swing arm is the 09 swing arm since DRR fixed their mistake.

To put this to another example, a lot of folks have been heated about the pipe change on the 2010 bikes. if DRR ran out of 08/09 pipes and yours broke on a 08 bike, they would ship you a 2010 pipe since that is all that is available. that would be the OEM replacement option for all bikes that ran the older pipe IF DRR ran out, or stopped making them. just to put this example to bed, they have not ran out and have a massive stock pile of them, but a good example of what "available oem replacement" means to the stock class.

you can not order a 2010 swing arm like what first shipped from DRR any more, they stopped making them, thus the 09 is the OEM replacement for 2010s. call DRR if you still doubt it and try to order a 2010 style swing arm.

The swinarm is the same they just didnt make the 2010 shock mount as beefy as the 09's. And also a square tube swingarm
is legal on any year DRR quad becauce DRR no longer makes the round tube ones.

The 50cc class is stock/limited. You are allowed to gusset etc... Also, I have seen at least 2 different s-arms for the 2010 quads and both are different than the 09 ones. I think they are all the same length though. Just some are welded together using different plates and mounts.

You missed my ?. Steve said he changed it. this meaning i thought he changed the rear mount maybe with chrome moly or something like that, wasn't inquiring he changed the swing arm with oem to oem. If you can weld gussets in why can't i make a chrome moly one thats the same specs and visually the same.

Dont bring it up on a open forum if thats what your looking to do. If it looks like factory no one will ask any questions. The 2010's just need a couple guesets.

where does it say he changed it? Also a chromoly made swing arm would be lighter that would be different. and welding chromoly replacement mounts to regular steel would not make that mount any stronger than originaly designed its still being welded to mild steel sub surface
