I just bought a 7X14 enclosed trailer. And would like to see what everyone does on the inside of the trailer.

Here is my 6x6x12, I put a platform in the back so I can store tires and parts under there and still have a place I can put the quad with out moving all the stuff to get it in and out.
I insolated the roof and covered it with that stuff they use on your house before they put the brick up. it like a thick card board with a smooth backing on it. I put carpet on the walls and the shelf on the side is mounted with hinges so it will fold down out of the way if I need it.
The front has a Honda 3000 watt gen. and I have a 3000 btu a/c unit mounted in the front.
Of course no trailer would be complete without a small fridge and tv as well.
When I camp out I put an air mattress on the platform and it is just the right height, and the platform will come out with the removal of just s few drywall screws. The platform is just ¾ cdx and I put two 1x4 runners down the side for it to sit on, and I just put a few screws in so it don’t slide around.

I like that floor, very nice. i chose to put some sand papper down on my back door so i don't slip and bust my *** when it's wet.

I like the floor as well...I have a buddy that does armorthane its like rhino lining and he is going to spray the floor for me...And also slightlybent47 how do you like the window ac unit? Im kinda scared to cutt a hole in the front of my trailer.

In this TX heat I wouldn’t leave home without it.
I love it, makes those hot nights a piece of cake. And if I get over heated I can step in for a few minuets and cool down in a hurry. I’m thinking about putting a window or two in this fall when it cools down some. I’m also going to put an awning on the door side as well and put some lights on the outside by the door. I also want to get rid of that old tube tv and get a flat screen, that way I can bring it out side and mount it to the side of the trailer so we can sit out side and watch racing videos while we are roasting hot dogs by the camp fire.

The only bad thing about having such a small trailer is it’s too small to use as a shop while at the track and I can’t keep the bike inside and sleep inside at the same time.
The other draw back is if were stolen they would clean me out as far as riding goes.

The good thing is that it’s small enough that I can drag it to the track every time I go and every thing I need to go riding and racing is all in one safe place. Plus when I’m on the road I can stop and go in somewhere and everything is locked up and secure.

I struggled with a bone stock bike for over a year so I could buy the trailer and fix it up, so it came with some sacrifices. As it sits now I have maybe 6 to 7 thousand tied up in the trailer alone.

Man i sure like that checkerd floor, thats sweet.

i bought the trailer for $1300 got it inspected and cleaned it really well so i have around $2k in it i think and i can sleep in it with 2 quads in if i have too...
they floor was only $350 or something....it is really slippery when wet though

I don't have any pictures but I know guys who have 24x8.5 enclosed trailers and if you have a truck to pull them they are NICE. I priced out a 20x8.5 at a local dealer and they said for a standard haulmark $5000. but I got a f150 so we're going with a 16x8.5 so you can still fit 4 quads in it.

also when buying a enclosed trailer do not let the dealer convince you that a V-nose makes all the differants. they might help a little but they add about 500 pounds for one that will cut the wind.

but if price is your main concern a look for a 16x7 down south my buddy got one for 2800 but He had to drive a little. and for 1 or 2 quads it's perfect

and always remember no mater how big your trailer is it's never big anuf:D

i just picked up a 20' x 8.5' one. only problem is my truck doesnt have the cohones to pull it and we only have 2 quads. guess i need to buy a new truck and more toys:D

dns1764 what kind of truck you got? try using a weight distribution hitch works really good to level the truck out watch craigslist you can get them for cheap

i have an f150 so it will tow it...just at 5 mpg or so. i already have a distribution hitch. we just use my brothers 2500 dmax to tow the thing around for now

what year i shouldn't be to bad as long as you don't pack to much stuff in it. and is it a 10000 gvw or 7000 gvw (gross vehicle weight) I towed a 20x8.5 with our f150 with no weight distribution hitch and it wasn't to bad we took it to our local gravel pit and it weighed 5400 with some junk in it empty it's saposed to weigh 3500 I think cargo express fudge's there weight a little

Wow my little 12 footer with all my gear weight in at a hefty 6700. and I pull it with my little ½ ton step side.
I get about 17 mpg without the trailer and about 12 pulling the trailer.

i have a 97 stepside that gets 12mpg without the trailer. it really doesnt matter because im always riding with my brother or i toss it in the bed of the truck

i spent half of last summer turning a "burn victim" enclosed trailer into a toy hauler. i haven't touched it this summer due to a busy spring and then two broken wrists for the last seven weeks, but i have a few pics of the progression thus far:

still have a tooooon of work to do on the inside. have a roof AC unit and fuse panel/convertor waiting to go in, trim to finish, insulation and FRP ceiling material to put in the roof in the front, more storage, work bench, tire rack, blah blah blah...

My friend has got a good size trailer and he built a kinda floor frame for the trailer to haul six bikes with good tie down points and the bikes are tapered so you dont have to worry about bangin bars. It's really a nice setup and it's been perfect for the many trips we've been on.

what is everyone running for tie downs. my trailer could use a bunch more. should i go with a bunch of d-rings or something to that nature, or get some e-track or something else.

sunco

D rings in my toyhauler. There so much stuff in there that I don't think we need any tie downs

for quads just zip-tie the front brake in works good and doesn't sac the suspension

ive got a 7x18 that has living area built in, ac, awning, shower, toilet, sink microwave closet and 2 beds that fold down. it has carpet all the way back but im going to put in some vinyl from the closet back where the quads go. it has worked well so far but i might have to upgrade if we start traveling again, just had a little boy so it hasnt been used in the last year.

anyway i never get pics to work right so ill try to include a link when the hosting site works again. for some reason it isnt loading them.

hey BBENDER, has the welds holding the middle plate broke on your dominator bumper yett?? i did the exact same thing an made a custom number plate for it, but the first race the welds broke holding the plate in. seems to be common

bbender85
07-08-2010, 04:44 AM
not so far. i used a maier plastic number plate and cut it to size and bolted thru the holes in the bumper inner plate and it's been just fine.

we have that bumper in one of our quads. Yeah it broke not long after it was installed.

Have a 28' trailer.

D-rings and aluminum e-track down both sides. The e-track is much nicer since it allows you to grab from any spot.

3/4 ton PU with diesel pulls it no problem
