i'm told the ltr's do fit and work
i know for a fact that the trx450r shocks work great

as for the yamaha's , dont bother with them, the bottom will fit but not the top. a special bracket has to be made to make then fit, which is rather cleaver way to get them on but when the others can be had its not worth the problem of getting them on.

I'm just curious is there a benefit to running stock 450 shocks compared to stock 400 shocks?

imo absolutely not....I have run both...your money is better spent getting your stock resevoir shocks rebuilt and resprung to your weight and riding style and terrain.....the LTR shocks also make the front end a little higher than the stock and are also stiffer than the stock Z shocks......

the stock 450 a-arms are about the same lenght as the stock z arms so you dont ger any real benefit...the 450 shocks are a little shorther than the stock z shocks and are a bit softer also.... lot of companies still make a-arms for the z ASR makes a really nice set...

the problem is the price alot more people sell them for trx450s then the z's

Here is a decent set that would fit your budget...

hop on ebay and type in this item number

200493190092...

I have installed these arms before and they are a decent fit, the only thing is you need to use you own lower bushings from your old a-arms....if you take your time you can uninstall and re use them..if not just buy yourself a new bushing kit for each side...good luck
