installing crf T/C question

since i'm in the process of building a 416 i was thinking about going with a crf timing chain.
1) how well does the crf T/C fit against the 400ex chain guide?
2) the service manual (clymer) states that you have to carefully grind down some on the nut to weaken where its staked..the nut holding the clutch basket to main shaft. is this how anyone else has done it?

i just got a hammer and a flat head and started tappin it and finally got it up enough to get the nut off ...

It really helped to have a clutch holder tool (i got mine from rocky mtn) and an impact gun.
