Anyone running a 400EX axle on the 250R? The axle will fit in the 250r's axle carrier. You need to use the 400EX hubs. The question is length, what is the overall length of a 400EX axle, compared to the 250R. What anti-fade nut works? Thanks.

When i bought a 400ex back in 99, I ordered an axle from RPM. It was actually a 250r axle, but i had to run this spacer they made in between the sprocket, and the hub. It was about as thick as a hacksaw blade, they said that it would make the sprockets align properly. So if you put the 400 axle on the r, make sure your chain runs straight, and i would think you would have to use a 250r anti fade, or lock nut because the 400 rotor are much bigger. There is a sticky thread at the top of this page that tells you what can interchange, or not.

Thanks, I looked in the sticky. It doesn't indicate the required lock nut to use for the 400ex axle. So only a stock design 250r or 400ex will work?

i beleive you will be able to use an anti fade made for a 250r.

Remember having to cut the threaded sleeve the locknut threads on a 1/4" shorter. Just a heads up when you put it together and it just won't fit. Thanks for the new member welcome!
