Okay so, I got my Lexx exhaust and put it on and go to rejet the carb. I get to the jet and it says 155 on it.. I was told by several people to get a 152? That would make it worse WOULDN'T IT or NOT?

My carb is apart as we speak.. :(

you will need a 155 for a stock motor and an exhaust no matter what anyone tells you......believe me!

may need a 160?

Read my new thread..... plug reading and jetting...info, its only a few threads down from this one.

If you wanna go that route..... but you will need more then 152 FOR SURE!

you should be alright with the 155, I would put it in and see how it does. go 155, leave the needle, leave the stock pilot in there and go 3.5 turns out on the f/a screw. you should be set then steve

wont be needing a 160 with a stock engine with a slip on and a filter. If you are below 1500 ft you should not need anything over a 155. I had a 150 in mine with my t-4 and my k&n filter in there. steve

Okay, WHICH is the f/a screw? I know where the idle screw is.

Also I had it started with the stock 155 and stock needle adjustment the throttle was sluggish almost like it would cut out sometimes.

I only brought that up being that an exhaust company figures you need 155 just for their pipe on a stock motor, with a filter you would need slightly more...so I came up with 160.

but with your 155, I wouldnt stress over it, I just threw that out there....shoulda been more specific I guess.

it is in the front of the carb

it is the only flat head screw at the left side of the carb underneath the line for the idle adjustment black cable. steve

also the stock jet is NOT a 155 it is a 148 ride it around a while and get it fully warmed up before you decide how it runs. if it is still sluggish go down to a 152. you can use the 17mm cap on the bottom of the carb bowl to change it also if you have a 1/4" socket to fit in there and slide onto the jet. then you can get your finger in there to get the new one started. steve

you need the special D shaped bit to adjust the air/fuel on there.

if you have a .22 shell, you can use that to bend the side on it and adjust it with that. steve

I've tried it a few times and couldn't quite get the snug fit I needed. Any ideas on how to bend it to the correct shape? Also, which way do I turn it, same as if I were tightening it?

I've tried using pliers and a hex to get flat sides but not so snug.

Is the best advice here something like... Just keep trying?

p.s. would metal epoxy help here (i.e. construct a knob/screw deal)?

If you can get it out then the best solution is either to replace it with one from an earlier model (99-04) which you can get from a rebuild kit, or to take the one you have and take a dremel to it and grind out a slot so you can use a flat tip screw driver. To adjust it screw it all the way in until its snug (not to tight or you will damage it, you can feel when its all the way in) and then back it out how many ever turns you need. If you have the 38 pilot then I would say 3-3.5 turns, 42 pilot go 2.5-3 turns out, so like you were unscrewing it.
