02-02-2003, 07:42 PM
i wondered what gear you had to hit that jump in.Looks like you would need 3rd pinned as big as it is.

bertman
02-02-2003, 07:44 PM
it was so sloopy you had to be on it hard to even get going out of the corner , just maybe not that hard I guess

Looks like yall had a day like ours 4punks.I started off knocking my front tire off the bead somehow.Dont think i hit anything, but never found a hole in it either. Then the second pin in my seat broke and my back plastic and seat came off while riding. Two zip ties didnt hold and it came off again, used two more zipties and a small bungie cord this time and that worked the rest of the day. Then i caught a log and started to roll it and stuck my leg out to keep from flipping and pulled a nut or grion.Right nut hurts like ****.Another guy smacked a tree pretty good.Another guy ran up on the back tire of someone racing for the trail and flipped hard in 3rd gear.Another guy lost his skid plate. But hey!it was still fun.cept my nuts really hurt.

4punks,
That looked like are ride yesterday. Went up the road near Busch Gardens and rode. Talk about a mud hole. Had a blast though. Wish I would have taken some pics though. Could have had one of me in a hole that I couldn't get out of. Buried the back tires.

I literally had to put one foot on the grab bar one time to get more weight on the rear end. It was really demoralizing when a local kid on a new Blaster went right up it no problem. It's all good though, new rear tires and I'll be all set.

dont feel bad guy.................we had serious problems with the mud here too :D

steering was impossible in the mud.............. :(

The kid on the Blaster did alright because of those balloon-type tires that comes stock. A Trailblazer with some cheap Holeshot looking things was having trouble and a little kid on an LT80 was just hopeless:D

bert was wearing his helmet and is an experienced rider. He hit the double in my back yard with a little too much speed and he overshot the landing ramp and took a hard landing. He smashed his face into something up on the bars. Not quite sure what he hit. I am just glad he is OK.

I will post a thread over there soon. I am trying to get a copy of the helmet cam footage from the ride to share with everyone.

The dale is ok, but I think it needs some adjusting and or tuning. It let me down a few times. For those of you who had questions about the dale in water, it did fine in the water.

it just happens that the pad on the bars is just the right size to squeeze into the opening on my helmet and my goggles are what busted me open , if you look at the one of mynose where I am cleaned up you can see the marks across my nose from the goggles where it took the skin off ,

Even after the crack up, this cat got back on the quad and rode for another hour and a half!!! Broke nose, crack in the cranium, and still strapped on a helmet to ride some more!! I'll give it up to ya', You da' man!!
It was a fun ride, mud and all. There's some great terrain up there, I kinda' like them hills! All the big sport quads were represented except the DS. I'd say they all did equally poorly in the mud!:) :)
And for Da' Man Bert, I can't wait to get up to Dale City to ride with you guys! Hope the nose job goes well!!!
One more thing- the double takes 3rd gear pinned on a Honda, which is equal to 2nd gear pinned on a dale!!! LOL J/K- the door was open...I guess thats only true when you can get the dale's started!!;)

Joe- I'm shocked you actually bought a Cdale considering the type of terrain you ride in. Do you race?

4punksdad
02-04-2003, 03:39 PM
no racing for me.............I am too old for that game.

bert I missed your post above about you coming back soon. of course you are welcomed to return..................but the next time we are going to have to limit the head count ;)

too many riders to keep tract of. My may 17th ride is going to take some planning to avoid the confusion we had last sunday.

bertman
02-04-2003, 07:30 PM
not a problem at all ,it did get a lil hectic , are you booked yet for the 17 or what ?? probably try to ride again this weekend , let me know whats going on up there .....and hows the video comin ? I probably going to get one of those head cams this week or next , that thing was pretty cool !!!!!

I want to ride this weekend also. I am going to order a new PRM skidplate today. I trashed my stock one last weekend. And I think we are going to have to have 2 groups of people on the 17th. 10 go one way and 10 go the other. It should be a blast. I can't wait.

4punksdad
02-05-2003, 06:17 PM
bert & moto,

this weekend the ground should be frozen and less likely to get me banned from the tunnel trails...........maybe we can get a small group going on sunday. I know I will be riding for sure. why dont just the two of you come out & we will make a mad dash for the tunnels :)

I am sure a few of the local guys will be here too.

Utility quads are cool. I am keeping my eye open for a cheap used one that I can use to maintain my trails.
