I have Laeger's +1 A-arms on my 400EX. Can anybody tell me if the ball joints would be the same as stock, or if they're something special?

Thanks!

When did you buy the arms? If they are a new set, they are 16mm.

If they are older, they are 14mm. For the 14mm, JB ATV Racing makes awesome balljoints that are a direct replacement.

Either way, I doubt stock balljoints will work. They are pressed in, Laeger's are threaded.

I thought the stock ones were not changeable.

If you have access to a hydrolic press then it's possible. But it's a major PITA and not worth it imo.

Not to tread jack....but where would someone buy a set of new stock ball joints? My dad has a hydro press in his shop. Would like to change these for this season until I do my tear down and start spending the big money on it this winter.

Honda doesn't list the balljoints as a separate part; they list the whole balljoint/arm as one piece.

I don't know if it is possible to get replacement ones or not. The only reason I know they are changable is there was a guy here awhile back that hit a tree the second day he rode his new ex, and it totaled the left arms. He bought a set of used arms, then pressed out the new balljoints out of the ruined arms and used them.
