You can't have your cake and eat it too....
It's one or the other, what is more important?

You admit to being beat by a blaster!:huh LOL:devil j/k
It depends on where the blaster is beating YOU at...Is it faster or quicker? And what is important to YOU not us ;)

well stock is 15 and a 38.
alot more torque would be a 14 and a 38.
if you want just a little more i would get a 15 and a 39.
if you want more speed get a 16 and a 38.

From what you want you better get some type of exhaust and then you might have a chance. You are rusing a stock motor up against a well built 240 motor. The exhaust will be helpful than the sprocket.

I'm running a 16 tooth fron and the stock 38 rear. When i race a freind of mine running 15 38 I will get him about 2 quad lenght off the line and to the top. both our 400ex are the same exact mods too. the 16 tooth will give you speed I didnt lose any bottom end at all I can still pull the fromt end up in second.:) :D :devil

does the stock casesaver work with the 16 tooth sprocket? is there enough adjustment in the chain? you really like the 16? i run flat out gravel roads, and harvested feilds, someday id like to go to little sahara

i think id like the top end and im not to worried about losing the low (within reason).

thanks

You guys running a 16 you must have 18" tires or live on the beach. When i put 22" tires on i couldnt get up half the hill around here without staying in 1st gear. And it would be compleatly wound out.If i tried to hit 2nd it would just bog the crap out of it.So i went to a 14th.
And if your getting 2 bikes off the line and you have a 16 to a 15.That guy cant ride.He should be smoking you until about 3rd gear when you would be blowing by.

Beating the blaster is the last of my worries, im sure i will win, i just wanna make sure its by a long shot. So a 16-38 willl give me the more topeend without loosing to much accel.?

you will have to modify the stock case saver a bit. Pretty simple just a little gringing on the inside curve untill you have good clearance. we ride mostly in the woods, tons of whoops and it work great.

feels like a overdrive saves on reving the motor on miles of power line roads running a constant 55 to 60:cool:
