Hi everyone. This is my first post on this forum and i need help answering a question. Today I put my brothers stock 22in rear tires off of his 300ex and put them on my 400ex. I want to know if i need to do anything to my atv like to change the front sprocket down one tooth or to just leave it? I do mostly trail riding so i would like to have more ground clearence.

Should be fine. You will have a slightly higher top end speed but you will not loose much low end torque to require different sprockets.

This may help you decide what you want to do...

Holy Crap,... I just calculated, if I put a 19t rear sprocket on,...
it will go 150.86 mph !
I'm going to head out to my quad right now, and grind off every other tooth on the rear sprocket !!!
Yee-Hawwwww !!!

hahahaha!!!!

0-150mph in 20 minutes if everything on the quad will hold together and you can actually start rolling. hahahaha

It does not turn any different really. The back does seem eaiser to swing out but it not to bad. It makes the ride more exciting!:D

My favorite tire I ever ran on the back of my EX was 21" Kenda Knarly XC's. It was unbelievable what just 1" would do for ruts. Most kids run 20" everywhere and it seemed I always skated through just a little better. They were even decent on the track but you did have to work the quad a little more.

TRX21, do you know what gears exactly you are running?

Not sure exactly the numders but they are the stock. The front may be a 15 and the back may be a 38 but still not sure.
