I don't know about you guys, but there's nothing better than placing part orders or heading down to the local shop to pick up some goodies.

For me, I love shopping online. You get to experience the fun of shopping around for the best prices, cross checking dozens of sites for accuracy, searching for coupon codes to save every little cent until you are finally satisfied with the order and make the plunge. Then you have the agony of waiting impatiently for the package to arrive. Checking the status of your order every day until it finally ships, tracking the shipment every few hours, just waiting for that day when the UPS/FedEx/Mail man comes a knockin'. And when that day finally arrives, you tear through that package like it's Christmas morning and you're eight years old again. Ahh yes, good ol' A.A.D.S.

Anyways, I figured I'd start a thread for all of us A.A.D.S. people to talk about our latest purchases.

I'll start off with my latest order from RMATV.

MSR AOF Clutch & Perch:

Motion Pro Clutch Cable:

Tusk Parking Brake Block-off Plate:

I also went down to the local shop and picked up a few jets for my trip up to Coral Pink, UT next week. Going from the local elevation of 2,000' to 6,000'-7,000' up there.

Cool thread idea.

I dont have pics yet, but you all know about the rear rack with the doggie carrier that I just bought from Craig's list. I gave the pet bed part, to my neighbor with the little mutts, and I kept the rack. (man, that thread got a little weird).

This is a pic of my old rack, mounted, but it is exactally the same rack...
http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/03%20400ex/IMG_8203.jpg

Now, I just ebay'ed a new cargo bag, (Khaki color this time), to go onto the rack.
(I think the khaki color will look better on the yellow quad).
It looks like this...

Watching the UPS Tracking number now. (like a kid waiting for Santa to come). it will be here in 2 more days. Will post pics when it gets here.

And by the way thanks for a well typed post. A lot of the posts on here are typed soooooo bad it's almost impossible to read them.

The sad thing is, I have seen posts typed like this. The really sad thing is, most of the time, the poster doesn't see anything wrong with it. I exit the thread if I have to strain to hard to read it.

guenther,
I'm pretty sure those Soft Bars will clash with your new Jerseys and Riding Pants.
I wouldn't want you to take a bunch of flak from the other riders.

It would probably be best, if you just send them to me, and save yourself any embarrassment.
I'm just trying to look out for your best intrest's.

That's just how I am,.....
MAN !, I'm such a "Giver" !

I think I'll take my chances Ron :D . I planted into the face of a triple about 2 weeks ago in a race and I'm sure they saved me from breaking my wrists. I was out of the race with front end damage and only sprained wrists. $300 well spent if you ask me.

I don't know why it took me so long to remove the parking brake assembly. That stuff has always annoyed me.

So after a little investigation it seems it might be a little more than just taking off an extra cable and blocking off a hole. Will I really need a new lever and cable like you got?

You don't have to get a new cable, I just figured I'd get one while I was at it. You can leave the stock lever on but then you're still gonna have that stupid assembly on it. I'd highly recommend getting a new lever.

Heres the thread I started when I went on my shopping spree
http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=431459

Then I bought a second 4hundy for the wife so she would quit wanting to ride mine :D

After I bought hers I bought ASV clutch levers for both, parking brake block offs, a Uni Filter for hers along with a 42 pilot jet and a rox speed dash cause her plastic rattled too much for me

heres the thread where I installed all of my parts

http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=434004

I think after all of that then I bought a new spark arrestor and end cap for my fmf.

Ya that's gonna bug me having that on there. Now I'm just debating on a oe type like Motion Pro Lever (http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&page=4&webTypeId=87&navTitle=Handlebars-Control&webCatId=12&prodFamilyId=1476) or if I wanna get something a little better similar to the one you got.
When will it come in? I think I might come check out that lever when it does to help me decide.

Touche' Perhaps I should get some more sleep before working on/ordering parts for the bike.

While we are talking clutch levers, I like the way that ASV levers will let you adjust the distance of the lever from the grip without actually adjusting the cable. I think that makes sense. I have a couple of the ASV levers on other bikes and they are great but can be a little pricey. Are there any other levers available that have this feature and have a reasonable price?

The MSR Pro-Raptor (http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&webTypeId=87&navTitle=Control&webCatId=12&prodFamilyId=1876) is like that, but I've heard it's not that great of a lever. Some of the reviews there on RMATV say the same.

I had 2 of those, both broke where the cable connects b/c the dang thing is very flimsy there. it actually broke the aluminum area right off. I switched to the MSR aof and been much happier.

Woo-Hoo !!!
The Big Brown Christmas Sled, (aka the UPS Truck), just pulled up in front of my house !

guenther

That sled showed up at my house also today with the revalve of my rear Stadium shock from GT Thunder. Laz needed to slow down the rebound even more after he rebuilt it a couple months ago. Nick from Jet Suspension just finished the rebuild and respring on my front Stadium shocks so the brown sled should be here next Wednesday (because of the holiday :( ).

Well here's what the "summer santa" brought to me today.

I don't have my rear rack mounted on right now, and I just set the bag there to take the pics, but you get the idea.

I think I like the Khaki color a little better on the yellow quad than my black cargo bag...

so now the rack that came with the "pet carrier",
( I still think that whole idea is hilarious),
can be mounted to my daughters quad, and she can have my black cargo bag,...
**To look just like Mommies quad**.

Now I already told you guy's once...
NO !,
She Does Not have me wrapped around her little finger !!!

how do you adjust the stock clutch on the 400s. I have an 03 and it just seems to be a little stiff to pull in. Would like it a little easier.

There is no adjustment to make it easier to pull. You have to go with an aftermarket lever and perch and new cable (if your old is hanging up). bkelley and I have the same lever but I went with a genuine Honda 250X cable. The 250X cables are longer than the 400EX cables and you can run it down the frame rail instead of through the headers. There is a BIG difference between this set up and stock. Do a search for "+clutch +lever" and you will come up with all the info you need.
