How do you go about monitoring our charging system? What voltage should I expect to see while riding? I heard it only charges when engine is over 2500 RPM??? Getting kind of tired of beating her up on the trail, park it for a second, and have the battery too weak to crank. I have not been using my e-fan either just to make sure that is not drawing too many amps.

Could just be the battery is shot, I had one like that no matter what I did it wouldnt take a charge anymore.

Dealer will usually test them for free.

same thing happened to me, but it wasn't the battery, it was brand new. the wire which sends the signal to the stator to tell it to start charging the batteruy was shot, so re-routed it any it charged the battery now. :D took like 20 mins to find which wire.

What you need to do is get your hands on a voltage meter. Start the bike and look at the voltage between the positive and negative posts on the battery. When you rev the motor you should see somewhere in the neighbor hood of 13.5 volts to 14.5 volts. Also check the voltage at the battery with the motor off. The battery should read at least 12.5 volts. Do that first and see what you have.

yep. did the exact thing, and that red wire was the problem.
