I wanted some pics of everyones Uni-filter. There was one already on my quad when I bought it, and I always thought it was strange that it was longer than what the factory filter would be and sat on top of the brace inside that would normally hold the pin on the stock filter. A few weeks ago I order a uni for the wifes 4hundy from RMATV and it was the same size and even had the pin that the factory filter would.

I have the paper work where the original owner had the pipe and uni installed at the Honda dealership, is it possible that they just grabbed one off the shelf that would fit or do I just have an older model of filter or something that didn't fit so well into the box?

The lid closes fine and everything, I just notice an indention on the bottom of the filter when I remove it for cleaning due to it resting on the brace instead of being shorter and fitting into it with a pin.

I'll grab pictures for you tomorrow.

It's already dark and the garage is shut. :(

And yes, I do think the UNI is bigger, maybe more surface area = more air along with the bigger holes in the inner metal fencing.

sounds fine to me. my UNI sits on the air box too. its nothing to worry about as long as it isn't falling apart. :p

Yep, that's how mine was when I was running an airbox.

Thanks for the pics. Mine looks like 400ex ehh! and the wifes looks like Ian's only the pin sits down in the groove. I'm gonna just guess that they changed the design up a little bit since mine filter is about 3-4 years older than hers is.

I just got a new uni yesterday. There was a sticker on the package the said "new design" so I guess they did change designs. I have not put it on the quad yet so I don't know if it will touch anything in the airbox yet.

your not running an air box? hmmm.. i have been thinking about doing that.

what air filter are you running?

time to favor up bkelley, snap a pic for me, and we'll call the clutch cable pic even...lol

i would take it you just clamp on an air filter on the end of the tube. but i have never seen a pic of anyones setup.
