is there anyway to get free dirt? like for a fmx landing? about 15ft high 20 ft wide and 45ft long. if not free what would it cost? what could i use as quality cheap fillers other than hay, barrels, mulch ect.

search craigslist around your area. i've found so much free dirt off craigslist

i just posted me an add for my area. ive been needing some dirt for my track for awhile now just havent been able to buy it

Also try a sine out where you need it. You may have to wait awhile but you should be able to get some sooner or later.

i dont know about your area but about any township or road crew doing ditch work near your house will dump it on your land.

Contact a local swimming pool contractor/builder.
Also any concrete/block wall contractors.
They usually have to pay to get rid of dirt, and would love to have a free place to dump it.

Where do you live in Southern IL? I just did a 20x15' patio and have some dirt that a friend was supposed to come get, but never did.

I have 2 truck loads, one with lava rock and one without. I'm saving the "clean" stuff for the landscaping around the patio, but definetly will not need all of the dirt.

I have some bricks/concrete that needs to go and would be excellent filler. And then I also have some lava rock(1/2 truck load) that needs to be removed.

I've been waiting since Memorial day for the guy to come get it, but he has been "too busy".

i live by lawrnceville. contacting pool builders does sound like a good idea and craigslist. is craigslist free to join and post stuff?

just checked where you lived and i'm level with you but on the opposite side of the state lol.

me and my friends just drove around looking for local people having inground pools installed... we would come across someone pretty close every few months.. most things like that they have to pay to get rid of the dirt and will gladly give it away for free especially if they dont have to drive very far
