its a hondaline 88/89 headlight/hood cover.

Its a head light cover for an 88/89 style head light. You put it on top of the 88/89 style hood with head light built in.

huh...learn something new everyday. didn't even know they made one. i'm lost how the front mounts though. do you have to cut slots in the hood for the metal pins to fit in? and most important...how much is it worth. i've been around 250r for quite a few years and never saw one or even knew they were made such a piece

yes you have to cut slots in the stock hood and you should hold on to it. they are rare especially in good condition seen them get $ 200 to $350 maybe more with the right buyer.

i don't know an exact production run number but they use to be popular in the cross country circuit a lot where busted,lost etc. some as you have come across, some like the look some hate the look but either way it is a piece of history to the 250R if you would like to sell it pm me with a price, I have a mint all original 88 i would like to put it on that i display.

if u want, i know a guy on this site who can take old atv plastics and make them look brand new with no scrathes. hes real good. he does alot of polishing
