i'm having about the same problems. so you can help me too.

i just woke mine up after a long sleep today.
i did the same things as you, but mine will idle,
it bogs down when i get on the gas, it'll bog just a little, then it'll pick up and haul ***..when i let off the gas after a quick run like that, it back fires.
what is causing my problems.....i'm thinking it's the plug, becouse it wouldn't crank before. so i cleaned out the carb. still wouldn't crank, so i played with the plug. i stuck a screw driver in the red rubber plug wire, scratched around a little. and it fired right up...

....anytips as to where i should go next to get MY/OUR problems worked out....

....thanx guys later....

my best guess would be that you cab is all gummed up with old gas and your engine is running really lean wich will cause it to run hotter.. try taking out the carb and spraying the whole thing down with carb cleaner... Dont forget the float bowl.
