Hello,
Anyone recommend any atv shops or people in MI that can help with valve adjustments and jetting for my sons raptor 250. He races xc and we have tweaked the jetting for a while now and can't get it right on. Any recommendations appreciated.
Thanks

Northern lower MI; near Cadillac... willing to travel though...not much in our area from what we've researched. There are a couple of shops in the area but we would rather take it someone with some race experience.

Cadillac, huh, no kidding? Thats where Im at to. Dave's Yamaha & Suzuki isnt bad. They are a small shop but they will get it dialed in. Maybe youve tried them already, just figured Id ask.

We've bought parts there before but have not used their shop services.

They will get dialed in it just may take a little longer. You could do it your self to, you just need lots of jets and probably a few different needles as well as LOTS of time. Two years ago we bought a carb from F2 and it didnt come with any jets so we had to start guessing. After a day and a half of hard testing we finally got it dialed. We started with a 70 MAIN, we ended up at like a 450 MAIN. lol It looked huge!(that's what she said) lol sorry, couldnt resist.

We have jets and can jet it but there's a miss around half throttle that we just can't get rid of. We had it dialed in once but had to change when the weather started getting hotter.

If it's at half throttle more than likely it the needle, try moving the needle both ways and see if that helps. What mods did you do? The GYTR jet kit is a good thing to buy also, you get 4 main jets a pilot jet and a new differant tapered needle, we have the GYTR Full exhaust system on ours, got the jet kit, used the needle on the second from the top setting, the new pilot, and the biggest main like it said to and it is right on the money.
The valve adj. is pretty easy also, if you have some mechanical abilty you should be able to do it, pretty simple. Let me know if I can help.

Mods....Big Gun full exhaust, GYTR air filter, dyno jet kit. Usually run with the airbox lid off.

Where we're at now...needle 1.5 down (gone both up and down already, still missing at 1/2 throttle), 138 main dynojet, fuel mixture screw 3 turns out, plug still rich. So, we had thought if we could get in touch with a good race mechanic they may lead us in the right direction. Not afraid to jet ourselves, just stumped.

Any links on info for doing valve adjustments?

Ive got an F2 carb that went on with no mods Id be willing to part with it. Prolly would sell it for about $125. It has the cable with it. It is still in good shape. It comes bored out to a 28mm(ID)
the stock is a 29(OD) the F2 is a much improvement.
Let me know if interested.

DYNO.....get that thing on a dyno so you can really tune it. It is well worth the money. Fierce Power Sports in Swanton Ohio right by Toledo air port; Corey will hook you up. it will run good and you will have the max power out of your set up no doubt!
