Looking for some input here guys, I'm helping a friend with his and it has me at somewhat of a stand still right now. 86 short rod engine, 170psi comp. premium gas, reeds in good condition, exhaust open, air intake open, known good CDI, stator, and coil have been installed. engine runs fine except WOT, any time you out it to WOT it cuts out, seems extremley rich, have changed main jets that vary from 162-145, 162 is way fat, 145 is still fat. this problems continues to gradually get worse, we are constantly having to take the main jet leaner, started with 155, to 150, now at 145, and now it is too rich. Looking for ideas or a know problem someone else has had. Have not pressure tested engine, seems to have no issues other than at WOT, so I don't suspect a problem with a leak. This problem does is not RPM related, it only effects it at WOT. Any ideas would be helpful.
