Hey I'm taking off my stock axle and have it down to the part where now I need to take my hubs off. I can't get that nut off of the rotor-side hub though. Any tips on how to get it off? It won't budge. thanks

I believe it is a 28 mm nut. I used a 28 mm socket with a breaker bar. I agree it was a bear to get off.

make sure u take the ring out, after about of half hour of trying to get the nut off i read the manually and found that there was a ring i had to take off. after you take the ring off its cake to get the nut off

did you soak it up with WD-40 really good?

I would suggest getting some one to help... Even if they are just keeping the brake on. Make sure you are turing it the right way, make sure the cotter pin is out. If its still real hard, soak it in WD or some other penitrating lube. Good Luck! During reassembly you may want to put anti seize on it :D

Hey thanks (yes I took the pin out) and I soaked it with WD-40. I guess I'll just have to keep working at it and get my dad to help me. I'm going to work on it tonight. I can't believe how tight it is though. I'll let you know how it comes out

Haha, i was just about to say that. A 1-1/16 american socket works good if you do not have a metric socket that big.
Mine came right off. 1/2 inch drive pull bar. Put my foot on it, gave a heave, popped right loose.

Hey I finally got the hub nut off. (Sorry my computer has been down so I couldn't reply) I got it off last week. My dad brought home a huge heavy pipe and we put that on the breaker bar for more leverage. The nut popped and then came off with my fingers unscrewing it. Man did they ever put that thing on tight though. The axle slide right out then. So I didn't have to worry about the sprocket hub. thanks for all your help!

well when i took mine off i put it in first gear all the way up to the point it can not spin like N. then i had my neighbor do it cuz i was holding the rear brake so there was not much stress in the crankcase on the gears. my dad wasn't home so he couldn't help.. but it worked out fine

It's 27mm.

The rear nut is a 27mm. I use an impact gun on full pressure...Oil your gun if you haven't in a while. You'd be suprised how much of a difference it makes.

If you don't have an impact gun, use a breaker bar and get someone heavier to stand on it.

it works much nicer if you use a torch and heat it up first then try to take it off with an impact..

bunch of wimps here. I took mine off with a leatherman. ( to take the pin out.)

just kidding. I used a american size socket that fit alright on ther. then put a ratchet on it with a handle that is at least 3ft long.
