I am running a 4 mill kit that is supposedly the older rdz style with 60 over bore with the head milled out for the stroke I have trouble with keeping a head gasket in this set up and when I can it gets hot (NOT JUST BLOW BY WHEN I BLOW THE GASKETS) will running a stock head with spacer work or do I simply need a cool head if so what size domes to run pump gas

You can run a cool head with custom cut domes. Contact Noss machine and he can help you out.

NOSS makes great heads, much better than cool heads.....You can run a stock gasket on a cut head with a 4mil that recieves the piston, the most common mistake people make is they do not install over bore head gaskets which leaves a section of the gasket hanging in the cylinder to be exposed to excessive heat and vibration from the ignition of fuel.

Once you loose a head gasket or overheat several times, i would have the head deck and maybe even check the top of the cylinders.

May not be the problem but something to check on....
