heavier flywheel

does anybody know where i can get a heavier flywheel for my 04 450 i cant find them anywere.

The Trail Tech butt wipes quit making them. The only other solution I found was e-mailed Steahly Off-Road and asked about the heavyweight clutch basket for the CRF's working on the 04-05 TRX450R. They responded and said for the magic sum of $259, they can send me on in a couple of days.

I haven't had the cheddar for it yet, it's twice the cost of a flywheel weight but it's +10 oz. Here's the link, e-mail and ask them if you want one.

more tractor like off idle hit just get up and go kinda chug along like a 400ex.

The heavier flywheel will let you lug the motor down in tight woods or technical sections with less risk of stalling. I helped greatly on my '04 450R that I race XC with, which was prone stalling no matter what I did to it.

I think the only solution is the heavier clutch basket, since Trail Tech sucks a fat one and quit making the heavy flywheel for the 04-05. Not only does it lessen stalling, it will help it hook up. In the words of Trail Tech:

Adding weight to the flywheel provides smoother power and more traction in rough terrain. Woods, trail and dirt track riders will generally choose a heavy flywheel. Will allow the rider to ride longer with less fatique and reduce stalling at low RPM's.

It doesn't effect how it rev's as well, so you get the best of everything.
